It is troubling to witness the coverage of civil wars occurring globally in Syria, Iraq, Somalia, and elsewhere around the world. The media’s coverage of the victims of civil war is disheartening; often leaving one to lose faith in humanity. However, in the midst of civil unrest are people making a difference in every profession, on every level, and in every capacity to bring hope. Social workers also play a critical role in civil wars by advocating on behalf of others.
